Quite an unusual and interesting Maple in that the new spring foliage is maroon. Gradually the leaves turn green with dark veins with just a hint of pink in the background. Quite striking. Upright habit. Plant in the sun or semi-shade protected from harsh winds. Deciduous.

Leaves emerge almost pure cream or white with green venation. As they develop, they become green with dark green venation while keeping the strong contrast. Can burn in full sun. Autumn colours are orange and reds. Deciduous.

A slender upright growing Maple with deep shiny purple foliage that turns to deep crimson red in autumn. Quite hardy and vigorous but as with all Maples will perform better with protection from harsh winds. Introduced from the Trompenburg Arboretum in Rotterdam. Deciduous.

aka Ash leaf maple or violet twig box elder

Featuring in spring, masses of burgundy tassels that adorn bare branches. Young shoots and leaves are purple maroon changing to bright green then becoming a deeper rich green as they mature. Leaves turn gold for their autumn display. A vigorous grower with smooth bark. Deciduous.

Great as shade tree for paddocks, larger parks and gardens.

aka Japanese Maple

Japanese Maple. An award winning Maple with fresh green, wide, lobed leaves that emerge in spring set against smooth grey-brown bark. Stunning autumn colour prior to leaf fall. Tall upright habit. Plant in a sheltered spot in deep cool soil. Deciduous.

This Maple has pretty little drooping sprays of 'flowers' known as corymbs just before the leaves emerge.
